Santos Bermeo Cordova has owned her 10 hectare farm, El Romerillo El Laricaro, for the past 35 years.  She now shares ownership of the farm with her grandson, Vidal, whom she raised as her son since he was small.  Santos is proud to have passed on her love and knowledge for coffee cultivation to her grandson.  She is happy to see another generation of her family with a love for coffee farming.  With Santos’ knowledge and Vidal’s enthusiasm combine to produce high-quality coffee.  Vidal now lives with his wife Esther and their young daughter, Joselyn.  COOPAFSI was established in 1969 in an effort to promote gender equality in coffee production and has focused heavily on ways to improve coffee quality and the livelihoods of its members.
