The Kiamwangi Factory is located in Mathira Sub County in Nyeri County, Central Kenya. Established in 1956, it is part of the greater Iria-Ini Farmers Co-Operative Society and is one of the oldest factories in the country. The wet mill lies on the slopes of Mt. Kenya, and the water that originates from the mountain is used for farming and coffee processing. They use a wet/washed process, where the cherries are hand-picked and delivered to the factory to be sorted, pulped, fermented, washed, and dried. Lastly, the coffee is delivered to the dry mill for milling, grading and bagging.
