When we first introduced RNY Bean Logic®, our goal for the coffee inventory management tool was simple. We wanted it to help answer one of the most common questions we hear from customers:

Since then, Bean Logic has become a valuable planning tool for both our traders and customers. It uses your historical coffee burn to project future inventory needs and help you make more informed purchasing decisions.

What’s New?
RNY Bean Logic® has always helped project your coffee needs using your historical 3, 6, or 12-month burn rate. Bean Logic 2.0 builds on that foundation with new features that provide even greater visibility into your coffee inventory.
Automated Projection Comments
One of the biggest improvements is the addition of automated projection comments, which quickly identify projected deficits by coffee group. Rather than digging through data, you’ll immediately see where attention may be needed.
Interactive Monthly Projections
You’ll also notice interactive monthly projections. Simply hover over any month to view detailed surplus and deficit information. This makes it easier to understand exactly where your inventory stands throughout the year.
Visual Forward Arrival Indicators
Forward coffee arrivals are now even easier to track. New visual indicators show when contracted coffee is expected to arrive. If you’re planning around new crop or forward contracts, you’ll have a much clearer picture of what’s coming and when.

Complete Inventory Visibility
Bean Logic 2.0 expands your visibility by providing a complete picture of both your spot inventory and forward contracts within each coffee group.
Identify Inventory Gaps
The updated projections also identify temporary inventory gaps between forward arrivals. Even if your overall inventory looks sufficient, Bean Logic can highlight months where you may briefly run short before your next shipment arrives.
New Crop Navigation
For customers who want to dig a little deeper, new crop navigation allows you to quickly jump between crop years and automatically update your projected surplus and deficit comments.

Adjust Your Burn Rates
Bean Logic 2.0 now gives you even more flexibility by allowing you to adjust your projected burn rate if your business has changed. Whether you’ve added new wholesale accounts or experienced changes in demand, your projections can be updated to better reflect your current business.

You can also include coffee that’s already sitting in your own roastery, giving you a more complete picture of your available inventory.

Happen to be in the “My Account” page checking out the new profile update? You can also click on the Bean Logic link under the coffee tab to start updating what’s in your roastery.
