Burundi Kirambi Rumanda Natural (GP)

This natural lot comes to us from the Rumanda Coffee Washing Station (CWS) in the Kayanza region of Burundi. Rumanda CWS is 1 of 5 stations owned by Zuberi Matsitsi, founder of Matsitsi Tarding Coffee (Matraco). Zuberi entered the industry by transporting coffee in trailer trucks, amassing a fleet of more than 10 before expanding into coffee production. Today, the company continues to transport coffee in their own trucks to ensure quality every step of the way.

Located between 1950-2100masl, this coffee is produced by approximately 146 farms that each average about 4 hectares of land. After picking their cherries, the farmers bring them to Rumanda CWS to float and separate them. Once the cherries have been sorted and then dried for about 40 days, they’re sent off in Matraco trucks for export.
