Organic Sumatra Takengon KKGO - FAIR TRADE

The Sumatra FTO Takengon KKGO coffee is produced on family-owned farms organized around the Koperasi Kopi Gayo Organic cooperative (KKGO), located in the Takengon highlands of the Aceh province on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. KKGO was founded in 2006 and is comprised of approximately 1400 small specialty coffee producers in the Aceh Tengah and Bener Meriah regions of Sumatra. These specialty coffee farms, averaging ½ - 1 hectare in size, are all self-owned and managed by the coffee producers. At KKGO they are proud that both the chairman of their cooperative and their exporter are women. Their specialty coffee producer members are a combination of men and women specialty coffee producers.
