Rodolfo is a third generation coffee producer, following in his father and grandfather’s footsteps. When he was young, he would assist his father during harvesting season. He would go to school and then spend his summers at his father’s farm. Initially, his dream was to become a doctor but his family did not have the money to get him through medical school. Rodolfo went to school for agronomy, thanks to a scholarship that he received. He would help producers apply fertilizers and chemicals to plants, but one day he realize how dangerous those chemicals were for the environment and for the health of the producers. He had the opportunity to train with a nearby producer who was practicing organic agriculture. This led to his organic farm, “Finca Clave de Sol”
