For the past forty years, Hillary Bett has owned Cahi Estate in Fort Tenan, Kenya. Cahi Estate is made up of two farms, a total of 10 acres. The daily operations of Cahi Estate is managed by the second generation of coffee growers. This is a promising fact to ensure the revitalization of coffee farming since the average age of coffee farmers in the region is currently around 65 years old.
This fully washed coffee was hand sorted, pulped and washed using clean river water before being sundried for 12 - 14 days on raised beds. Once dried it was hand sorted again before the parchment was delivered to Kipkelion Mill.
