A group of 180 small holder farmers from the Kiangara Cooperative on the western slopes of the Aberdare Mountain Range contributed to this lot. These farms are at altitudes of 1600 to 1800 meters above sea level and are characterized by fertile volcanic soils and cool temperatures that are ideal for growing coffee.

The Kiangara Cooperative has one wet mill, Mbari Ya Hiti. All of the small holder farmers in the area handpick their cherries and deliver to this wet mill. Once delivered the cherries were hand sorted, pulped and washed using clean river water. It is then hand sorted again for defects during the drying of the parchment.
