Don Geovani Gonzalez is the owner of the Barranquilla micro mill in Barranca de San Juanillo. Geovani took over the farm from his father in 1980 and has since purchased more land, more than tripling his size. He is one of the few producers in Costa Rica who uses traditional fermentation tanks for his washed coffee, as the majority of Costa Rican coffee is processed with demucilagers. Geovani belives this use of traditional methods allows him more quality control and gives his coffee a more distinctive flavor profile. With more than 30 years of experience in the coffee industry, Geovani knows the importance of continuous improvement.
