Colombia Nariño Excelso-Maruja Rivera (GP)

This washed lot comes to us from producer Maruja Rivera of Aponte, Nariño. A 70-year-old coffee producer, Maruja lives on La Primavera farm and has worked in agriculture throughout her life. La Primavera sits at approximately 2000masl and is also home to Maruja’s arracacha and yucca plants as well as her chickens.

Although Maruja’s children now handle the daily work on their 1-hectare farm, she remains a key figure for her family and the coffee-growing community. Maruja represents the generations that have upheld the coffee tradition in Nariño, leaving a lasting impact on her community and contributing to the development of the rural area she calls home.
