Organic Colombia Tolima ASEPROPAZ - Fair Trade USA

This washed lot comes to us from producer members of Asociación Ecologica Productora de Paz (ASEPROPAZ) in Planadas, a town in the department of Tolima. The producers of this lot grow coffee between 1500-2050masl on plots of land averaging just a few hectares a piece. These members of ASEPROPAZ carefully harvest and sort cherries before processing and drying the coffee using their own micro mills.

As conflict in the area has decreased in recent years, the number of locally organized associations, including ASEPROPAZ, has increased. ASEPROPAZ focuses on certifying and training its producers to use the best organic practices. The cooperative also invests in basic infrastructure needs like road improvements and establishing a local warehouse to improve the lives of its members.
