Organic Guatemala SHB ASPROGUATE Fair Trade

ASPROGUATE (Asociacion sostenible de productores de Guatemala) began in 2014 led by a group of organized producers located in Coban, Acatenango and Chimaltenango with the purpose of marketing their coffees of quality for added value using fully organic practices. 100 producers helped start this cooperative and others in nearby regions saw the success and joined in. As of recently producing regions consist of Acatenango, Atitlan, and San Martin Jilotepeque. Approximately 55% of the producers are women producers. Members take pride in their organic practices which is assisted by the workshops the cooperative provides to the members on fertilizer and soil support. Educating producers on gender equality; emphasizing in rejecting discrimination, slavery and child labor.
