Colombia Nariño Excelso-Edilma Loaiza (GP)

Edilma Loaiza is the owner of specialty coffee farm, Granadillo, located 2120 meters above sea level in Buesaco, Colombia.  Edilma has over 25 years of experience growing coffee, which first began when she was 25 years old and inherited a small parcel of land from her parents.  She began planting coffee on this land to receive some governmental benefits since they were promoting cultivation of coffee in areas that had been hard hit by violence.

Edilma, a single mother of two, is teaching her children about coffee and how to work on a specialty coffee farm.  Her oldest son is particularly interested in specialty coffee and has been consistently going to Pergamino’s lab in town to learn how to cup and analyze green coffee samples.  This lot from Granadillo is fully washed and patio dried.
