About The Class

Royal Coffee NY has been purchasing specialty coffee since 1995 and we’re excited to offer an accessible & practical coffee buying class taught by one of our traders.

This class covers all the important fundamentals of buying green coffee.  It’s perfect if you are starting a roastery, or if you’re moving into a green coffee buying role within your company.  We’ll cover:

  • The purchasing process, including roles within the supply chain
  • Types of purchases (spot, forward, etc.)
  • Important terminology for communicating with your trader
  • Basics of harvest cycles, the C-Market, and inventory management
  • Introduction to contracts and pricing
  • Ethics and responsibilities between buyers and sellers

Students will also develop their own six-month inventory plan taking into account information learned during the lecture and have a chance to discuss them with other participants and Royal NY traders

Cancellation Policy:

If you are unable to attend this class after signing up, you will receive a full refund only if we are able to fill your spot.
