About The Class

Being a well versed barista takes a lot of practice, but building a strong foundation in the basic skills you need will help make the learning curve less steep and have you mastering a busy rush hour behind the bar in no time! Barista Fundamentals is a 2-day workshop that covers 5 segments:

– Coffee History & Processing (including an introduction to cupping)
– Espresso
– Milk Science & Latte Art
– Extraction Science (including an introduction to hand brewing)
– Cafe Drinks & Workflow

Students will have plenty of hands on time on the machines dialing in different coffees as espresso, steaming milk, and making lots of drinks.

Although this class is a focus on the foundations, students will leave feeling proficient and comfortable working behind the bar at a busy cafe. We’ll have a practical “exam” at the end of the course for students to see how far they’ve come in just 2 days, and in what areas they need to focus on going forward.

Cancellation Policy:

If you are unable to attend this class after signing up, you will receive a full refund only if we are able to fill your spot.

Same smooth cold brew profile, way more flavor complexity.

Hot bloom cold brew is a simple technique that uses a small amount of hot water before the cold steep begins, creating a brighter, more dynamic cup while maintaining the smooth profile consumers expect.

In our latest cold brew blog, Evan Kluender explores the science behind hot blooming, how it impacts extraction, and how to try it yourself.

Fresh in from Guatemala! 🇬🇹

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be welcoming a fresh lineup off arrivals from Huehuetenango, one of Guatemala’s most celebrated coffee-growing regions. From regional blends and producer associations to single-farm offerings, there’s a coffee for every roaster in these upcoming lots.

Take a closer look at the coffees on their way to our warehouse and the producers behind each offering. Link in bio.

RNY Roaster Round Up! ☕️

This week we’re drinking a fresh arrival from Tanzania. We found this coffee to be sweet and bright, with top notes of juicy stone fruits and citrus, with a honeylike finish.

What coffee are you drinking this week?

As a reminder our office is closed Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day.
