Bajo Mono Estate is a fairly young farm with coffee trees just entering its more productive years,
so the potential is very promising. It has the perfect characteristics of a coffee farm, immersed in the Volcan Baru slopes under a unique micro-climate it´s coffee will continue to grow and produce exceptional coffees.
Boquete is a valley on the eastern side of Volcan Baru (the highest in Panama). The valley floor is about 1000 meters above sea level, and most of the coffee is grown on the slopes surrounding the valley, going up towards the volcano and into the central cordillera (north & east side of the valley). Coffee is grown in some areas above 1650 meters. Bajo Mono goes from
1350 up to 1650 masl. Within Boquete, there are several smaller regions, including Alto
Quiel, Volcancito, Palmira, Horqueta and Jaramillo. Each micro-region has its own unique characteristics. Boquete is also known for its incredible biodiversity, especially in flowering plants. The town of Boquete was settled in the late 1800s and early 1900s by immigrants from around
