ABOUT
Gichichi Coffee Factory is a part of the larger Othaya Farmers’ Cooperative Society in Nyeri County, Central Kenya. On average they produce 150,000kgs of cherry annually, and are FLO certified. During their washed process, ripe cherries are hand-picked from the trees, delivered directly to the coffee factory and is washed three separate times, involving floating to remove low density cherries, fermentation, and post-fermentation washing. Afterwards, the coffee is dried under natural sunlight before being sent to the mill for milling, grading, and bagging.
