Focusing on Sustainability: An Introduction to Coffee in Guatemala – postponed, new date TBD

In this 2 hour event we will give you a window into coffee sustainability in Guatemala.  Royal NY will be partnering up with  Los Volcanes for this unique event.  During this event, Attendees will be given an overview of sustainability challenges and successes, from one end of the supply chain to the other, with a focus on Guatemala.  Los Volcanes is an exporter and facilitator of relationships in both Guatemala and Brazil.  Specialty Coffee is often defined by these relationships, relationships from importer to roaster to producer or even the relationship producers have with their plants.  Los Volcanes’ “focus is to create coffees that reflect the identity of the people who grow them and the places they come from.” This takes the form of advanced composting systems, data gathering, and frequent transparent communication along the supply stream.  You as the consumer, barista, roaster and/or coffee business owner will have the unique opportunity on April 7th to discuss these efforts with key actors along the supply stream, as well as the responsibility to help foster these relationships. So, come out and join us in this discussion, presentation and of course in tasting some delicious Guatemalan Coffee!
