ABOUT
Eraldo García Martínez’s farm, Finca El Magey, is named for the Maguey plants found in the area. His ancestors had used these leaves to build the roofs of their ranches for the harvesting season. In 2010, Eraldo planted about 2,000 coffee plants to continue the family tradition of producing coffee. He is a third-generation coffee producer and learned production and procesisng methods from his father. Eraldo has been a member of COMSA since 2012, and says that the cooperative has helped him learn about organic agriculture and biotechnologies useful in the coffee producing process.
